Taking the virus seriously does not mean living in fear. I go back to the polio days and having survived every communicable disease since. I'm a retired anesthetist, my daughter is a critical anesthesiologist, and my wife is doing ER. Common sense rules.

I am glad that you have survived every communicable disease since polio, but suspect that it wasn’t simply because of having “common sense.” As an anesthetist I know you understand that we prepare for every contingency. I wish you well and hope you and your family stay safe.

I am glad you did this, but anyone with children should have a will, POA, medical POA and wishes for caregivers of the children in writing. This should be a wake-up call. I updated my final wishes almost 6 yrs ago when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer.

Absolutely. We’ve already had a will in place for over 13 years—POA, executors, all of it—but in this moment we wanted to make the bench deeper.

With grown kids, reviewed location & all docs previously done. I know they don’t like the idea, but those who will need them (sooner or later) also need to know exactly what to do with, and exactly how to execute all the documents, too.

This is critically important! Knowing what exists and WHERE they are!! Also which companies you have accounts with (insurance/bank/retirement/payments) - especially with online everything - this is becoming harder and harder for family during a very challenging time.
