    Burn piles in the wet season help keep the forest safe from high-intensity wildfires when fire season comes around. Thank you for this awesome QTAC! We use this mobile water tank/pump to help control the scene on Rx burns and burn piles.

    It's been a day ... Watching for potential impact of on our Modini Preserve while conducting evacuation plan for schoolchildren who were visiting . Back on the bus, everyone! So glad for these updates from . We're in good hands.

    UPDATE: 58 acres. 20% contained. Forward progress stopped. On-site temps = 90 degrees with 7% relative humidity and strong winds. Hwy 1 remains closed between Panoramic Hwy & Road. No evacuation orders. More info: (415) 473-7191.

    update from our Modini Preserve team: all staff safely evacuated to our Healdsburg office & are thinking about our neighbors on Pine Flat Road as well as the incredible legacy of Jim & Shirley Modini, who faced down a few fires in their time on the land. 📷 KDoron

    Audubon Canyon Ranch has chosen Siegel & Strain Architects for the rebuilding of the Bouverie Preserve facilities in Glen Ellen, destroyed by the . Even w/o a hub, schoolkids are back on the land and we're up to 80% of pre-fire program capacity!

    Good fire is back on the land at Bouverie Preserve. This grassland burn was timed reduce invasive plants, promote native bunchgrasses & native wildflowers and to offer a cooperative training opportunity for regional fire fighters, land managers and private landowners.

    The boardwalk at Cypress Grove Research Center on has proven to be preferred hunting grounds for gray fox recently spotted on camera. We pity the poor woodrat, though suspect it will nourish young foxes nearby. Wildlife outpaces humans for miles logged on our lands.

    Reintroduction of the responsible use of natural, controlled fire is a stewardship strategy that has the potential to provide the greatest regional impact of any land management tool. ACR is honored to be a partner of the Sonoma Valley Wildlands Collaborative.

    With a million dollar grant from Cal Fire in hand, a collaborative of six Sonoma Valley organizations may begin vegetation management, controlled burns this month.

    A study by the CA Dept of Pesticide Regulation found second generation anticoagulant rodenticides in more than 90% of tested mountain lions, 88% of tested bobcats, and 70% of tested northern spotted owls, among other animals. The passage of AB 1788 is encouraging news.
