An actual not potential effect. Companies are already tracking & reporting their pay gaps on the basis of gender self ID not sex. Whilst the numbers may not be large, inaccuracies result. Failures to track sex & indeed GRC pay creates legal & reputational risk for companies.

I’m not a techie so may articulate this poorly but a line in this year’s RI Xmas Lectures made me think about the many many IT TW too. Something about thinking in algorithms seems to lead to the conclusion “non-macho outlook + feminine outfits must = literal woman”
