https://analytics.twitter.com does something to link some % of your followers to real people to get demos. Several non-free ways to do it. Some github projects of peoples ML work.

http://audiense.com - 15 day trial, used to be called socialbro, can do gender, language, location for both friends & follows. Race, ethnic background there are academic papers on inferring it with last names/location- no easy tool that I know of.
