That chart is a lie. The title ("Partisan distribution of perceived systemic favoritism") and legends ("Whites are favored", etc.) were created by @AudaciousEpigon to reflect his interpretation of exit poll questions that don't mention "favoritism" at all.https://twitter.com/_khaaan/status/1060655993531629574 …

I take it you used the exit poll results from CNN, but their page doesn't contain the words "favoritism" or "favorite". You appear to have written the chart's title and labels yourself while making it look official. That isn't just "cheeky", it's lying. https://www.cnn.com/election/2018/exit-polls …

Why don't the numbers 87, 85, or 69 appear in your chart?

The exit poll shows the party vote distribution by answer. I just flipped it to show the answer distribution by party vote

I don't understand what that means. Can you explain more? Like, how did you get 75.1%?

Take .41*.87*18778=6698 respondents are Dems saying whites favored; .19*.12*18778=428 are Dems saying minorities favorted; .33*.29*18778=1797 are Dems saying neither favored Then 6698/(6698+428+1797)=.751 (75.1%) Make sense?

Yes, that was helpful. Now I see that CNN's chart shows, e.g. P(Democrat | thinks whites are favored), while yours shows P(thinks whites are favored | Democrat). I agree with @curi42 that you should fix your significant figures, explain your math, and cite your sources.

See my response to him. The "significant figures" don't need fixing. They are more accurate the way I present them
