Ed McMullin? You don't mean the preposterous Evan McMullin? No, this Kamala thing is not going to go anywhere. I'm thinking of those 1961 Esquire articles, Whatever Became of Harold Stassen? If Dems want to survive with any kind of centrist attitude, it'll be Biden.

Biden has run twice and gone nowhere both times. And the party had a distinctly more WWC flavor to it than it does now. His appeal is manufactured. Is his association with Obama enough? Will Obama even pass over a female POC to endorse an old white guy?

If you had a grounded, middle-aged Beto O'Rourke, that could work, but old Biden's all they've got for now. Dems have to nominate a moderate white Christian man or woman for 2020.

How does a person like that survive the primary process? Bank on Iowa and NH coming up first? Black candidate will dominate South Carolina and probably Nevada, too

Same way Kerry got himself in there. Solid early money, locked up the regulars, let the Dean people flake away. Basically, party pros want to win, and they'll take a yaller dawg, but it has to be a yaller dawg that can win. Jimmy Carter saw that, so did Clinton and Kerry.

Not the same party in the Current Year, though

I'm looking for Dems to drift slightly back to their roots. Maybe not 1828, but 1928 or at least 1968.

With an electorate that is less than 50% n-H white?

Electorate? You mean Dem voters? Yes, in some local races the coloreds will have their own bucks and wenches. But not for a national candidate.

Bernie Sanders won whites in 2016. But Hillary crushed him with blacks almost as badly as Obama crushed her (75%-25%), so she had the nomination even without the super delegate cheating
