Not now u can't. Isn't it harvested as the sap rises, that is to say in the spring? Lots of sugars need to get new growth going after winter

A cursory Google suggests that it may take 160+ litres of sap for a single bottle of syrup. This may limit production from a single tree.

Oh yeah, gotta boil it down! Also suspect that diff. varieties of maple tree etc Maybe a ritualistic "bleeding" of the tree? Call it what?

Some more back of envelope maths suggests that we'd need at least 7 Budget Trees to make one bottle.
