Does anyone know how the Senate records 'attendance'? This is showing Pauline Hanson not missing any days at all in 2017 or 2018, which is no way in hell correct. Often has been out of Canberra or journo's commenting not in Senate? https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Statistics/Senate_StatsNet/General/Attendance_of_senators …

Attendance is recorded by the clerks at the table, and a list of senators absent each sitting day is published at the end of the Senate Journals. The combined lists of attendance are checked against the Journals. And yes - total number of sitting days does not include estimates

Thank you for answering
So if a Senator say only rocks in for 5 mins of the day, would still get recorded as sitting for that day?2 replies 1 retweet 2 likes -
A senator needs to be present in the chamber at some point during the sitting day to have their attendance recorded. The relevant standing orders are here: https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Chamber_documents/Senate_chamber_documents/standingorders/b00/b07 …
