1) It’s democracy in a secular society; I don’t agree with it but if they choose to, they can ignore the ideas and solutions provided by scientists and proceed in a manner they see fit, as long as they fulfill the expectations, procedures and responsibilities of their positions.
-
Is it Democracy to take advantage of people lack of information about science and research impact? Is it Democracy to create doubt about evidence based facts? It is not right, they are not supposed to do that!
-
1) It’s always about rule of law, before, during and after you vote in a president. He’s not the only president that ignores scientific evidence or manipulates information. He’s just one of the least popular, most divisive and vulgar Presidents to do so.
-
2) Obama ignored some heavy analytical and scientific evidence in order to do what was compassionate now and restorative in the long term to the country by passing DACA and the Affordable Health Care Act.
-
3) Its about the right and choice of the president and his cabinet, within reason and by democratic rule of law, to choose the course of action irrespective of the evidence provided. It’s why voting should be taken seriously.
-
4) We have a constitution, and a democratic one at that so he won’t make any progress on his tyrannical agenda. But unfortunately he will destroy some good policy.
-
I’m on your side, man
. But we actually have to trust the process. You know what it looks like in other places when folks don’t respect or trust the democratic process. It’s not as bad as its looks; it’s acute, which is serious. But it’s the same process that will undo him.

It’s pretty much the same here in Australia. Conservatives these days are anti-intellectual, anti-evidence-based reasoning. It seems to be a reflex rather than a thought-out position. I don’t know how this has happened.
