We are already reading this to improve our disaster planning. Basic tenant I learned from an awesome Ops Professor: "Find the bottleneck, then feed it. Then find the next one."

I'm a nurse. My first thoughts to my son were, "you have no idea what chaos this will bring to the hospitals, I have no idea how they possibly handle this" This is stunning beautiful choreography.

Just finished reading this. If u ever wondered what it'd be like to have a present day ED team on a beach in Normandy or Iwo Jima taking care of casualties, this would be a chronological record of such events.

These guys did a military triage on the casualties. Red=Critical/Urgent, Yellow=Priority, Green=Minimal (Walking wounded) and Black=Dead or, about to die. In an American city.

-
Ran out of ventilators. Used Y tubing, doubled up tidal volume and put 2 patients on one ventilator

Crazy.
