@Atul_Gawande My brain is a med device, too, then. Machines are better at calculating a dose based on my 2.8 ISF and 1:13 I:C ratio.

@Atul_Gawande do you think we need FDA regulation on apps or rather just a higher standard of approval? i.e., once approved, hands are offThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@Atul_Gawande People with type 1#diabetes use blood glucose meters that are inaccurate often - 5% outliers permitted and they dose insulin -
@CureT1Diabetes@Atul_Gawande Your never going to see 5% accuracy without losing shelf stable, or cost...+-15% is allowed -
@joltdude I'm referring to the 5% outliers - meters only have to be +/- 20% , 95% of the time. 5% outliers - not even close to the 20% -
@CureT1Diabetes Ah.. but its still an issue.. Still think that could be resolved with user based calibration.. But that wont fly with FDA -
@joltdude Frightening that people who cannot afford to use an extra strip, and don't know better, are taking insulin based on outliers -
@CureT1Diabetes But people should be able to use control solution (i.e have enough strips), as well as using control solution to calibrate
