It is anticipated that the injection of insurance money from the government will lead to new business models around healthcare delivery spring up, including those that will support primary care. Private players can now start viewing primary care as a remunerative venture.

"Health and Wellness centers" might be coming up as game changer in primary care and prevention. Total sanitation n yoga are impressive add ons. Picture is changing on a fast pace.

Great recognition of the need, but (I agree) it is so much better to provide insulin than an amputation. Preventative care and education is the key to better health. This is especially true for the poorest among us.

Concept of primary care needs time to take root in India. Currently all PCPs are mainly used for urgent care

I wonder if it would be cheaper to invest in public health, open up more health centers hire more health care workers, upgrade hopsital equipment. Preventive care is definately the way to go.

Disagree about government’s role to provide private healthcare . Have personally seen that most people are capable of taking care of that . Hospitalisation and serious illness hits them most. Also wellness centres are great initiative!
@livemint . Also glad to share with you -

I think it's a good start . Arogyasri is still a popular health scheme in telangana and andhra Pradesh providing relief for the white card holders .preventive care definitely needs to taken up as welland is the way forward .

Cost for this program will be too high. I don't understand the logic of skipping primary prevention and/or secondary prevention. Tertiary prevention will not benefit the poor and only benefit the private Hospital in the long run.
