I’m not defending HiC or anything, but the double standards from certain people regarding the violence are not helpful

I wonder if there would be a reaction if they put a topless/torn suit exposing muscles Wally West in a similar pose as Ivy...
-
if issue #4 is any indicater, you will never see that cover. The artist decided to get horny this issue and draw Lois wearing nothing but a Superman t-shirt and panties and decided to show Batgirl's backside when giving her interview whatever.
-
Granted Superman was also in bed wearing nothing but a pair of briefs. But still, some dc artists get too horny drawing women sometimes. You will NEVER see male characters in similar suggestive poses or whatever.
-
Uhh, they kinda do. The one on the left was even DC’s twitter header for a bitpic.twitter.com/cpuGb3I8TY
-
The Justice League is as far as they would go with dc characters that aren't nightwing. The one on the right is of Dick Grayson, the one male character they would and could overly sexualize.
-
There are whole blogs dedicated to this stuff http://shirtless-superheroes.blogspot.com/
-
Yeah but any time when a male character is shirtless, in underwear or naked, they are never in a suggestable pose. Usually they are either fighting someone or laying in bed or taking a shower, etc.. Basically what i'm saying is they aren't used in a sexy suggestive way...

Doesn’t stop people from finding it attractive

Dishonest, people are missed about Wally and Roy dying cause they're fan favourites, and people are pissed about that cover with Poison Ivy that's borderline necrophilia
-
Still a double standard though

Y’know, I was reading The Darkness comics lately (‘cause I like the games) and man, 90% of the stuff in there would send modern comic critics into a raging fit.
-
Lots of 90s comics wouldn’t make it to the printers nowadays
-
Because of their content or quality?
-
People disparage 90’s comics these days, but I find even those superior to what we have nowadays.
-
Oh no. No no no no no no no. As bad as things are today, the 90s nearly killed the industry entirely. They actually had an impact that changed the industry itself by how bad they were.
-
Like how comics are dying right now? Hell, at least the 90’s comics back then focused on the story, no matter how poor they were, rather than virtue signaling.
-
Plus, the 90’s comics gave us some kickass games. Turok Dinosaur Hunter and The Darkness came from that era, and are awesome shooters.

People are (faux) upset about this?
-
Emphasis on the “faux”
-
Thing is if they ignored her trauma people would complain that they were ignoring her, how that's an even bigger injustice than her being shot to begin with and you ignored a woman's suffering so you're clearly misogynistic. You can never win...
