For those math and physics and engineer nerds out there, this is a cool article about turbulence. As a test pilot and later shuttle pilot, understanding the transition between smooth and turbulent airflow was critical to understanding flight regimes

Lots of water has gone under the bridge and we shouldn’t try to go back- but Dave you’re right-we “cancelled Constellation” but kept Orion AND Ares V (as a more expensive SLS) AND added 2 other capsules- only Ares I was truly cancelled (the safe and less expensive ride for Orion)

Yesterday’s Soyuz failure made me think- we wouldn’t be in this situation without a vehicle to fly to the ISS if we hadn’t canceled the Constellation Program in 2010. Political Science is a poor substitute for Rocket Science when making space policy.

Outstanding job by the crew (Alexei Ovchinin & Nick Hague) and Mission control in Moscow in handling the Soyuz emergency today, and also to the Russian rescue forces for getting to their remote landing site within minutes of this unexpected abort landing

Thankful the crew is safely back on earth - their safety is obviously top priority.

Can’t wait to see this film . I treasure the moments I had with Neil - he was a good man and someone I looked up to as an astronaut.

It hasn’t exactly been a week of “feel good” news- but here is something incredible. Congrats to the Japanese team who landed MASCOT on asteroid . Are you kidding me? Amazing. Good work, I bet 500 years from now this will be remembered..

I remember as a kid watching the missions. This is cool... humans sending probes into interstellar space. I’m proud that my stepdad helped engineer one of their instruments.
