It shouldn't take a deadly pandemic to make it painfully obvious that tying health care to employment and then firing people who get sick is a terrible system.

Basically a system that does not actually work. It's amazing that we have this and yet live next door to Canada, which already has universal healthcare.

The rest of the western world, a population much larger than the US, has Universal Health Care - this includes countries with a per capita income a fraction of that in the US. It's bizarre and goes back to voter suppression and gerrymandering. That needs fixing now.

I do. They should be free to think really hard about which bridge is likeliest to offer shelter for them to sleep under tonight. Relieving them of anything they can’t carry would be a good first step.

They couldn’t have planned it better. All they have to do is keep dragging their feet on the response, and they will get what they always wanted, *without having to say the quiet part out loud.* 😡😡😡

If i didn´t know this is real, i would´ve guessed this was the proposal of a special stable genius well known for saying a lot of the smartest things out there. Or, in other words: something i thought would only be said in a SNL-sketch 4 years ago.

I keep thinking about how we're at a crossroads where we are presented with irrefutable evidence that this is folly that is going to lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths and we could and should absolutely fix it immediately... ...and we just don't. Even now. We just don't.

The only way to fix it would be violent revolution. Our politicians are largely our enemies. They don't listen to us, only bribes. Too many of us still think we can save it with November's vote. As if Trump would ever honor the law.
