I've been meaning to make this shirt for ages to let people know how much better I am than them because I shoot at F2. If you do too, coupon code CLOTHING25OFF for 25% off. Apologies for all the laws I'm breaking.

Dreaming of M8... As the lid continues to cover us here in the northeast - I reminisce of warm nights under a clear summer sky in the backyard. Here is Messier 8, the Lagoon Nebula captured with the ZWO ASI294MC Pro back in August.

It turned out ok last night, 40 odd short subs first attempt in years with this old rig/modded camera, before clouds and rain rolled in, never seen it so wet in UK for years.. ☔☔.

After reading 's article on StarNet++, I created this starless version of my Hubble palette NGC 7822 image. Might be a great technique to add RGB stars to SHO nebula images!

Well... my first ever attempt to photograph Andromeda (NGC224/M31). LOTS went wrong from guiding to battery problems but semi pleased with the outcome and lots learned for next time. Here's to the inspirations to get going with this!

After almost two weeks without doing any astrophotography, I took this picture of Orions belt and sword tonight. I think it turned out pretty well.

I went right back to the very basics for last night's run. EQ5 mount unguided, 72mm EDF refractor and an off-the-shelf Nikon D750.

on January 30th. The first image of the new Mars apparition. Syrtis Major is nicely on view with a bright Hellas basin to the south. The Martian atmosphere is clear and free of dust - i sincerely hope it stays that way this time around!

I ❤ StarNet++ Do y'all use it? 🤔 I have found it to be an excellent way to quickly remove the stars from my astro-images! If you haven't tried it yet (you should, it's free). Here's how:
