Because of our relative speed, moonsets/rises looked like they were in fast forward. It would only take a minute or two for the moon in this photo to hit the horizon. Back on Earth now, I’ve had to do double takes when the moon is in the same place it was when I looked 30min ago!

One of my favorite things to look at from was the moon. The orbit is ~250mi from the surface of the Earth, the moon is ~238,000mi. So we aren’t much closer to it - but the view was stunning.

It was a high pressure assignment to be the sole designated hugger, but one I was happily up to!

Can’t wait to see them soon! Never gets old to see friends in space one day and get to hug them on Earth the next. Godspeed and safe travels...

Both “walking” in space last year and being back here with my fellow earthlings during this tough time this year has reminded me, once again, that we are all in this together. Maybe now more than ever.
