States like Texas outlaw the practice. But Texas can't outlaw Federal mail delivery and Texas can't prevent dispensaries in states like California from sending the pill.

The most immediate thing the Biden Administration can do to guarantee abortion access in the states with post-Roe anti-abortion trigger laws is to affirm that the FDA will approve telemedicine for mifepristone (abortion pill) and it can be sent via mail regardless of state law.

There were over 55,000 abortions performed in Texas in 2017, or 12.7 percent of all pregnancies. Whatever you think of the morality of abortion, a legal ban will work about as well as Prohibition.

Yes, though it'd still be hard to enforce. States like CA would have to be able to supply and transmit the pill even if FDA bans the telemedicine. They should prepare for that eventuality.

It’s complicated though because ultrasound and follow up is truly necessary to confirm the abortion is complete after mifepristone. Im a fan of telehealth, but this requires some interaction.
