Buttigieg won the fresh face not-a-lefty lane, which could have belonged to Harris or Booker. A lot of reasons why this happened, but this is also where the whiteness of donor class and early states really matters. Their vision of electability impacts viabilityhttps://twitter.com/aseitzwald/status/1216761652877713408 …

Cory Booker's failure to launch while less likely ppl did (Yang) remains one of thornier Qs of this cycle... My main theory is he's an earnest dude in a cynical time and people just didn't buy that his schtick was for real (even though all the evidence I've seen suggests it is).

It's also about the differential impact of cable news. >50 voters are influenced a lot by cable tv & Pete got the most uninterrupted positive coverage. Harris/Castro were erased & Booker was an afterthought. Warren also had a very positive stretch of cable tv cvg as she rose.

Bingo. This all makes sense when u factor in that the average viewing age of CNN is over 65.

Yet there are many who still believe Iowa and New Hampshire hasn't and won't impact the race lol.

Because the best candidates are the ones who insist people with limited financial resources carry the full burden of campaign financing

Yeah, any questions get raised about a POC's bona fides and *whoosh* we're back to a white dude (whose bona fides go largely unquestioned).

Booker spending the bulk of his career as an unregistered agent of the pharma industry when healthcare is voter's #1 issue may have been a factor.

My switch from Kamala to Pete had nothing to do with this...esp since...I’m not white. She had a lot of momentum out of the gate but could not find a message. Also bIack ppl went for Biden over them!!

Thank to for joining #TeamPete - still heartbroken about Kamala but she’s a force of nature. She’s gonna be around for a long time ❤️
