I always tell journalism classes, Twitter was the only reason the editors I pitched when I was starting out had any idea who this rando in the Yukon was.

Creating networks and clicks seem to be more important these days, than, you know, the news. I grew up in a world where you read the paper for news and rarely glanced at the name of the reporter.

I grew up on the print edition of the Hartford Courant. There was never a time when it made sense not to notice the name of the reporter.
