Pleased to welcome #Eritrea delegation led by @ministersaleh to Washington. Eritrea has a vital role in expanding peace, security, and prosperity in the Horn of Africa. Ongoing regional reforms can bring stability and opportunity to the people of Eritrea and beyond.pic.twitter.com/cAZVwcnjkM

If you want to make up for the 20 years of failed US policies and want to contribute to any positive changes in Eritrea, remove the sanctions immediately as a show of goodwill. Do anything else and you'll lose the entire Horn of Africa, which stands united. It's your choice.

The only stability in Eritrea is when human rights is respected, political prisoners are released, rule of law is supreme guidance & the brutal regime is annihilated.

A country without rule of Law promoting regional peace, this is new politics. And deserves a wow. Can you explain to us how that works?

Regional reforms alone will not bring #Eritreans stability & opportunity. #Eritrean people have zero stake in this. They are not represented at all. If the mass exodus we witness is seen as stability & opportunity, yes I agree this peace brought an excellent opportunity to escape

@StateDept @realDonaldTrump @FLOTUS what is US policy on #Eritrea ? America should demand release of all political prisoners in the country. Business as usual with the most brutal regime in the world does not serve American interest in the region.

The sanctions should not be lifted as long as the dictator is killing and arresting innocent people in #Eritrea.

Sanctions are hurting people. Those who oppose lifting them are mostly not Eritreans. They are #Tigrayans/ #TPLF. Any sane #Eritrean wouldn't support sanctions. Those few #Eritrea|ns who were working with TPLF , of course, they do support sanctions.

Aside for Jeberti terrorists, no Eritrean group supports sanctions against the Eritrean people. Jeberti terrorists are numerically weak, & like all Salafi terrorist groups, they need chaos and hardship to bring Islamic fundamentalism to Eritrea. That is why they support sanctions

Can you read the details of sanctions, it doesn't include machinery.. It's Arms ban.. And private travel ban for the corrupt ones... Go read before you comment

You obviously don't know how sanctions work. Just about every sector of the Eritrean economy has been affected by the sanctions. Even the stigma of sanctions prevents investment. Sanctions hurt the people, not politicians with access to money.

True:sanctions stigma turns away investments & restricts low interest loan provider international multilateral institutions. The negative impact is so profound that it drills deep into daily lives of poor citizens.Sanction also contributed for pushing people into further migration

Remove the illegal sanctions or keep it and let China and Russia dominate the Horn of Africa by making the sanctions obsolete. You can't lecture Eritrea about human rights when the sanctions are a human rights violation and a collective punishment of the Eritrean people.
