Regardless of what one thinks of Julian Assange, anyone who cares about the ability of journalists to freely publish documents should vigorously condemn any DOJ attempt to prosecute WikiLeaks for doing just that.https://theintercept.com/2018/07/21/ecuador-will-imminently-withdraw-asylum-for-julian-assange-and-hand-him-over-to-the-uk-what-comes-next/ …

This news isn't about a "DOJ attempt to prosecute WikiLeaks." The United States has nothing to do with the story. This is about Assange evading charges of sexual assault in Sweden, and Ecuador finally deciding to send him back to Europe. Hard ratio.

If he was innocent and was willing to cooperate with the Swedish investigation, why flee to Ecuador immediately after the appeals failed? I don't think it would be right for Sweden or the UK to send him to the US, but that's not the news that broke today.

News broke in May 2017 that Sweden dropped its investigation. You also missed the fact Assange cooperated throughout. It was the Swedish prosecutor who refused to question him and finally did in late 2016 after a court compelled her, then dropped it. http://justice4assange.com
