We tested it and KB4532695 does NOT modify jscript.dll. It does modify mshtml.dll (which we micropatched) but not in a way that would prevent jscript.dll from getting loaded. So it's really unlikely that this KB does anything for CVE-2020-0674.

Is Microsoft messing with your Win10 Search box? Some people report the text has changed from "Type here to search" to "Start a web search" but, more disturbingly, MS seems to be changing Search builds without notification. Help us crowdsource the answer.

Reports of the Win10 version 1909 search bar now saying "Start a web search" not "Type here to search." Is this an undocumented change in this month's optional update, KB 4532695, or possibly a side-effect from installing Chredge? Let us know what you see.

We've had a rash of high-profile "emergency" patches that aren't emergencies at all. There's a downside to crying "Wolf!" -- most recently, admins should be fixing real holes in their systems instead of chasing the vuln du jour.

There is apparently a fix for Book 2 wifi (FINALLY) in the Insiders Slow ring. Not sure about other rings. These folks have been begging since July/August when a bad driver was released for a fix. The scary thing is that the fixed driver is dated 9/25? WHY THE DELAY?

The latest "optional, non-security, C/D Week" patch for Win10 1903 and 1909 is out. It's supposed to fix the long-standing File Explorer Search bug(s). Anecdotal evidence that it also fixes the ADV200001/CVE-2020-0674 security hole with a new JScript9.dll

The "optional, non-security, D Week" cumulative update for Win10 versions 1903 and 1909, KB 4532695, is working its way through the Insider Preview ring. Looks like it nails the ADV200001/CVE-2020-0674 security hole. No word on the File Explorer Search bug

Microsoft blinks again, this time vowing to fix the "Stretch" black wallpaper bug introduced in Win7. The fix is no longer restricted to paying Extended Support customers. But... how will it be delivered, and will we get a fix for the IE JScript 0day?

MS-DEFCON 3: Time to get the January Patch Tuesday patches installed. A combination of this month's relatively clean patches, and an ongoing push to get CurveBall rolling, makes it reasonable to patch sooner, rather than later. Full step-by-step details.

You know the bug introduced in this month's Win7 patch, the one that turns your wallpaper black if it's "Stretch"ed? Microsoft says it'll fix the bug -- but only if you pay for Extended Updates. Nice guys.

The "optional, non-security" C/D Week patches are starting to dribble out. No 1903 or 1909 optional patches yet, but we did get a tiny 8.1 Rollup Preview. Win7 is nowhere to be seen; presumably the Stretch black screen bug is a "won't fix."

January Patch Tuesday crop looks relatively benign, if you're an individual. For admins, it's been one jolt after another. Still no working exploit for the NSA-advertised Crypto CurveBall hole. Win7 gets its butt bumped twice on the way out the door.

Worried about the latest JScript security hole? If MS Advisory ADV200001, CVE-2020-0674, concerns you, there’s a patch from 0patch that should be of interest. Thx
