    The SLPSO did go far as to say the unidentified woman was not Monique Dixon. A rumor spread like “a California wildfire” about her death and people started calling her family to offer condolences.

    The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is working to identify a woman whose body was found in a ditch. Foul play is suspected. Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office.

    A woman was arrested in connection with making threats toward students. The elementary school was closed Tuesday while Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputies investigated. Few other details have been released about the incident.
