Travis Co Judge Andy Brown - We are making good progress clearing roads but there is a ton of work to do. As we get reports back, it seems like the number of trees down is massive. Looking at declaring a disaster declaration.

Gov. Abbott affirms his commitment to securing the border, noting Texas is the only state building a border wall. Commits to taking action on fentanyl -- saying "DPS has seized enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman, and child in the United States."

Abbott notes he passed 14 laws last session to improve the power grid and there were no grid-related power failures since. But adds there will be more demand as the state grows and improving the grid is a priority.

One day after TX Sec. Of State John Scott announces his departure at the end of the year, Gov appoints @SenJaneNelson, the longest serving Republican in the #TXSenate and former finance chair, as SOS. Sen. Nelson did not run for reelection and planned to retire.
