    Atlantic County Freeholder Ashley Bennett gave a speech at the rally. She mentioned how this year’s is dedicated to Fannie Lou Hamer, who was thrown out of this same room in 1964 for opposing Mississippi’s seating of an all-white delegation at the Democratic Convention.
