A much needed perspective, thank you! Not only are Universities conservative as institutions, many outwardly progressive senior faculty are personally conservative when it comes to power sharing, diversity, and innovation.

An administration at a Stare U. Threatening a cut in funds to Math Dept if they didn’t improve their pass rate is just one example told to me recently by a friend/fellow academic. Universities are in trouble.
