This is what I don't understand: the job of being President is to deal with crises like this one. Trump hates doing this job. Why does he want to keep it for a second term, when things are going to be even worse?https://twitter.com/DavidNakamura/status/1259246504717553666 …

2016 was the last free and fair election for President. There is reason to believe that Trump plans to have a Trump in office indefinitely.

Right on and it must be a vanity thing for him too. He does not like to lose but he has a knack for losing and still comes out as a winner.

Trump & his family can also continue the grift if he’s re-elected.

But, and I'm just spitballing, if he were to leave the country in Air Force One to a non-extradition nation never to be seen again, I wouldn't mind buying a new plane and pretending this never happened.

But sooner or later it's going to catch up. What bothers me so much is just to protect one man's childlike fragile emotions, the entire country has lost its stand and stance on the world stage!

This is an underrated take. This, no doubt, is the guiding principal of ALL his policy at this point. Also makes you wonder why Cuomo hasn't used that fact as leverage on the COVID front, as, in DJT's backwards mind, Cuomo controls the strings of justice in NY.
