It is. My insulin home delivery has been put on hold for two weeks because of shortages.

Holy shit.

news today reported medications prices will be going up 6% very soon. so, shortages or intentionally holding back until the date they can charge more? delay would bring in hundreds of millions of dollars more industrywide. I smell a very big rat.

Drugs cost SO much more in the US than my country, it’s appalling

I haven’t had the meds for my narcolepsy for 8 years now, because the GENERIC averages $900 per month. It’s not really a problem, unless I want to drive. Or cook. Or bathe. Or work. Or adult.

Call Senator Manchin. Get him to ask his daughter about how things are at the shop.

While the right wing in this country is obsessed with poor people coming here to try and work and make a life, corporations keep merging into a smaller number of conglomerates, ripping us off at every turn. Wish we could wake up

early onset pricegougerism?

It's insane, right? I stuck one in my leg when I was 16 and was going to have my 13YO sister drive me to the emergency room afterwards, the least bit of worry was having an Epi-pen in the first place...............

Has been for almost a year! See if your insurance will cover a now available generic while you wait for the real thing. Some will cover both now.
-
100% this

I just got a generic Epipen 2-pack, and it cost me $15 w/ copay, vs. branded Epipen that would have cost me $400 copay.
-
And yet the brand and generic might well be made by different branches of the same company. It’s this kind of greed from which we can attack for funding for universal healthcare. It’s just the wealthy think these types of situations will not affect them. They are wrong.

My dr told me not to worry about exp dates on my epi pens. I no longer have insurance so I carry my expired one with me.
-
Same w/ my dr. She said even an expired one is better than none at all, as long as the liquid hasn't turned brown. If it's clear, I still keep it as backup backup backup.
-
Hearing your tweet and the prior one is sad and maddening. No one should have to check to see if their medicine has turned brown.
-
It is sickening and maddening, agreed. An expired epipen is better than no epipen in a life saving emergency, though. People should keep expired ones on hand until they have enough new ones to cover emergencies.
-
I travel often, and frequently to far-reaching parts of the globe where I'm 24 hours away from the nearest hospital, out in the wilderness. I carry at least two Epipens that haven't expired, and two more expired ones, just in case. I'm prone to random fits of anaphylaxis, so...
