To be attracted to someone does not necessarily mean that you want to engage in sexual acts with that person. Attraction can be romantic, aesthetic, sensual, emotional, or otherwise non-sexual.

1st off, asexual doesn’t = celibate. Nice reach making me loving someone (who was also ace) a “demand” for “celibate monogamy” or being “friends”. It’s not like great literary authors have been struggling to put love into words for hundreds of years or anything.

Putting a label like "romance" on that confuses a whole lot of people. That might be love, but conflating it with romance doesn't translate to the non-ace world because that's a word they use to differentiate situations involving sexual attraction.

Not really. Plenty of non-ace people understand the difference between fwbs (which can be monogamous) and bf/gf relationships (which can be polyamorous). If you don't, maybe you don't experience romantic attraction. That's perfectly fine and is called aromanticism.

When I first discovered I was Ace, I was so upset by being defined by lack. A friend told me to focus on what I did have. She was so right. We have so much, the world just forgets sexual attraction isn't the only important thing.
