So in addition to the good tweets I have already seen about the Sarah Paulson/Ryan Murphy fat suit debacle, a numbered list of some additional points 1) Fat suits always look bad and unnatural, which contributes to the stigmatization of fat bodies
2) Saying something like "Linda Tripp isn't even fat" is fatphobic 3) Linda Tripp seems like a person I would not like and would not want to be friends with but... She is a real person who exists and is still around and that makes this even more fucked up
4) If people really were worried about the consequences of being "canceled" by mean fat girls like me Like if there was such a thing as actual consequences for fatphobia... Actors would stop agreeing to wear fat suits because of those consequences
And YET Once a damn quarter, we have to come on this website to say the same damn shit about fat suits being horrible AGAIN
5) If there does come a day when actors have to start answering hard questions about why they agreed to wear a fat suit Don't let them say it was "a different time" and that "nobody said anything" That's not true because we have BEEN saying these things
Let me be totally clear-- I think Linda Tripp is a bad person. I still don't think this is ok
This kind of massively public picking apart of someone's size can lead to very bad outcomes, including eating disorders And I don't care how bad of a person someone is or was, I would not wish an eating disorder on them
