Yeah, that's how I felt the first few days. Then all the downsides began to sink in: the non-metaphorical feces & needles on the sidewalks, the homeless encampments, the involuntary 'how much?!' I make when I asked people how much an apartment for me & my cat would cost...

Re the rent, I live in London so I got used to the madness already. Re the other, it seemed to be concentrated in specific areas. Others were quite pleasant!
