It’s wild that you can just do anything. Date the wrong person, choose the wrong career. You can go outside and start eating dirt if you want, and the universe lets you. Not even a pop up like “Are you sure?”

Y'all aren't ready to hear this but your dog/cat is not automatically your son. Some pets are nephews and others still, are cousins. It depends on the pet's Energy

Like , I have a dream: that my four children will one day live in a world where human beings will not be judged by the nation of their birth, but by the content of their character.

Re Devin Nunes, many Portuguese Americans don't pronounce their names the Spanish way. So Lopes rhymes with soaps. Gomes rhymes with homes. Gonsalves rhymes with resolves. And Nunes rhymes with newness.

If you tax sugary drinks but also tax a lot of sugar-free alternatives, then you really blunt your attempt to reduce sugar consumption. That's just a beverage tax, not really a sugar tax.

This article in is about soda taxes, including the Philly soda tax, but for all the times it mentions sugar and health, it never acknowledges that Philly was taxing sugar-free drinks. It was a revenue measure, not a health measure.

To tell these American citizens (most of whom were born here) to “go back” to the “crime infested places from which they came” is racist and disgusting.

Letting all immigrants have free health care, and not abolishing the work visa requirement, is a recipe for making America into a country that either demands radically less immigration or demands radically less welfare. Welfare societies and open immigration do not mix.

Democrats 2009: How dare you accuse us of letting undocumented immigrants get health benefits under the Affordable Care Act! Slander! We hate immigrant heath care! Democrats 2019: Of course all immigrants will get free health care! We are all comrades!

My favorite thing about political debates is the slow march toward death in which each of us is living out precious, precious minutes of life before we return to stars and dust and eventually the universe too dies and all is finally void.

Today is Anthony Bourdain Day. He was probably America’s best ambassador, a man of empathy, curiosity, and unapologetic cosmopolitanism. Celebrate by seeking out people new to this country — both visitors and those seeking to make a life here — and making them feel welcome.

After I explained the theory and practice of which items go into our countertop utensil crock rather than the drawer, observed that marriage is basically a long-term ethnography of a single person.
