The Villagers are Baby Boomers who easily got houses and jobs and paid their student loans off by age 24, don't realize how all that has changed and chide millenials for not being able to do the same.

all 100% correct except I think Luigi is more like one of those surprisingly progressive Christians. Like he volunteers at a bible camp and thinks the world is only 1000 years old but if you ask him about gay marriage he's like "well I sure as heck don't see why not!"
