Had an assignment in school to do a paraphrase self portrait! Picked the work -Gabriel Fauré- from John Singer Sargent! Really challenging but extremely fun!
Gotta admit, felt really weird to paint myself o_o

That`s really interesting! Can you tell me how many/what different kinds of brushes you used? I`m trying to tell by looking at it, but can`t quite figure it out

Thanks! I used 5 different brushes ,a rougher chalk brush with a lot of rough texture for blocking out (picture), then I tried to mimic the smooth brush strokes on the face with an oily mixer brush! For the background I mixed 3 different rough brushes to get some irregularities!pic.twitter.com/wOxahMRKmQ
