After failed coup TR gov't released appx. 50K convicts with state of emergency decree to make room post coup arrestees.
Deputy under secretary of Turkish Justice Ministry says there 221K convicts & arrestees in TR prisons and it is %9 above of full capacity.

Nearly 1/2 of 221K consists of arrestees. 1/'2 of the arrestees (50K) were jailed after the failed coup. Allegedly 17K are women.
