The ideaology in question is Islamism. They aim is to get power, not remain in opposition. All methods used to gain power is acceptable.

The ideology can be re-branded; it's essence will stay the same. Not sure why the world need Gülenist-type Islamism anyway.

What was the draw for so many people from so many walks of life to put their faith, time, money into this imam from Erzurum?

Were these people THAT desperate for a leader? Could they not cope with figuring out how to be decent humans? How to get jobs fairly?
