After 7 years, Turkey partially abolished Criminal Peace Judgeship (CPJ) system that was notorious with systematic arbitrary detention practices. Now, as it was prior to July 2014, it is possible to lodge an appeal with superior court against the decisions of CPJs. @VeniceComm
In 2014, CPJs were created -with then PM Erdogan's own words- 'as a project' against the 'Paralel State Structure'. Until now, it was not possible to lodge an appeal with superior court against the decisions of CPJs. After 2016, CPJs 
ordered pretrial detention of more than 100,000 individuals for terrorism related accusations, issued house search warrants against at least 600,000 individuals over their alleged links with Gülenist entitites,
froze the assets of more than 4000 judges.
According to @ifadeorgtr, CPJs issued blocking orders (access ban) about 140,000 urls, 450,000 domains, 42,000 tweets. Finally, it does not mean the new system will work better. We have to continue to monitor the situation.pic.twitter.com/SqMHeYUfav
