S.E did not have means to hire a lawyer, she was indicted w/ the charge of membership to an armed terrorist organisation. Ankara Court did not appoint a lawyer for her, was sentenced her to 6 years in her absence. She was imprisoned with her 3 years old child.pic.twitter.com/bNqJ92QJjW

After she was imprisoned, it was understood that she was convicted by having breached all procedural safeguards: without lawyer and in her absence. She eventually was released for a retrial.
