How many people do you know who have been convicted on terrorism charges in Turkey are granted house arrest? And why is Mr Balık granted this - what appears to be special - treatment?

Though there are many who release after having sentenced to 6Y3M, you are right on that ordinary Gulenists are being treated worse than those who have contacts with AKP politicians. (such as Fettah Tamimce, SHarput)

Under current practise of Turkish Judiciary those who are sentenced to 6 years and 3 months are being released with the final decision, most of the provinces decide such way, except the provinces associated with Antalya Regional Appeal Court.

Since the chief judge of Antalya Regional Appeal Court was unseated because of a decision on Bylock, the new board of the court quiet rarely releases defendants.
