It’s really quite simple. When someone is being hurtful, inciting harassment or spreading bigotry, you demonetise them or remove and ban them. These are in your rules already, but you don’t enforce it. Oh, and racists and Nazis are just not allowed. I don’t know why that’s hard

Similarly, when someone complains about their FACE being used in a video to mock, that is then responsible for an avalanche of alt-right/Nazi harassment aimed at them, you don’t return with “there is no identifiable information in the reported video”. It’s a face.

Is that’s “uniquely identifiable” enough for unlocking phones, then yeah, a face is pretty identifiable. But then, the video in question was by one of your biggest stars who seems to get away with a lot. Says a lot about how you really feel about harassment

It’s disappointing. Youtube is a platform I feel a sense of ownership and love for, but their handling of harassment is abhorrent. These recent events showed they don’t mind Alt-Right people spreading white supremacy as long as they make money off of it

Yup. I followed their complaints procedure to the letter (which in itself is a mission, as they are unclear and labyrinthine) when I was featured prominently in a video that led to actual harassment, but that vid was by PDP so apparently my face wasn’t “identifiable info”

Which, ya know, maybe they should tell that to the thug kids who followed me home and started harassing my parents house

Eh. Police got involved. It was more annoying than anything else, though the reality of what it could become was not great. Not happened in ages now, so hopefully all done with.

I’m glad it hasn’t been an issue in a little while and that it wasn’t worse

But surprisingly when radical leftists call for violence it's all fine.
