I’m guessing this is short-lived political theater, payback for suffering thru the policy vandalism & jack-assery of folks like tom cotton. Yes, Schumer’s rant is pure playbook, but what would Pompeo be saying if Kerry were SOS? Grandstanding maximalism stinks on both sides.

It’s also what you loathe about McConnell and the GOP, no?

It’s a party in the minority. They have to play politics here.

there are better issues to make points on

Raising the bar on this one is exactly what they should do. They can’t accept anything he brings back from the summit & hands him a victory months from the midterms. They need to stand firm & demand CVID. otherwise, it’s a failed summit (& most likely be) & stick it to trump

What? That they would expect the agreement Trump wanted for Iran?

Was not expecting Trump to get attacked from the right on DPRK by Democrats.

Schumer is so miserably bad at his job, he makes Harry Reid look like good by comparison. I really wish the Dems would elect real people and not these cardboard cut-outs.

I see this as a domestic political ploy, it smacks of them seeking to skewer Trump as if to try and set him up to fail and have any deal collapse, to score domestic political points. At the same time, it's not exclusive to the Democrats, look at what Trump done to the Iran deal.
-
It's part and parcel of the highly polarized and confrontational mode of Washington politics. Trump takes delight in trashing the foreign policy successes of Obama and the Democrats do the same thing. This in turn provides a very, very easy way out for North Korea if it wishes.

The Democrats will do to any Trump deal what the Republicans did to the Agreed Framework from 1994 until early 2000's. It's all about "my side" and "my team," not about what is right for the world. That is disgusting. Senator Schumer, YOU are disgusting.

This just became the Democratic parties new, 180 degree position on NK? Did Obama just keep it a secret?

This is a good reason to loathe
@SenSchumer and a good reason to question@SenateDems who support@SenSchumer. -
And yet, Trump is still a corrupt loon who is even more scary.
