Where bullets and bits meet; infosecurity training for journalists operating in high-risk environments. Dataleaks can have serious consequences for people working in warzones. Very proud to help make some of the bravest people around a little bit safer.

Saying this about #Facebook 5 years ago got you accused of tinfoil-hat fashion. Whistleblowers bringing us documentary proof to confirm suspicions helps a lot to have the proper dialogue. Governments should not use, or endorse use, of Facebook #asbestos #smoking

I think at this point we can basically say that Facebook is malware, specifically a RAT (remote access trojan) targeting your hindbrain: indiatoday.in/technology/new

Weird how governments will constantly remind us to be scared of (foreign) 'hackers' and 'cyber-spies' while at the same time proposing new and unsecurable ways to run their most important process; the vote that legitimises everything else they do.

“Why don’t we just do electronic voting? After all, it’s 2018 and we can do everything by phone!” 😂 Here’s why that’s a bad idea:

Just imagine the most incompetent security team you know, giddily hacking back. Surely nothing will go wrong and everyone will be fine.

for an example of how well hack-back would go in the real world, remember when TV5 got ravaged by APT28? Do you really think a television network should be engaging a military intelligence organisation in any sort of warfare? Who would win?

In case you were wondering why Congress today is treating Facebook's CEO like an old friend rather than grilling him (they didn't even require him to be sworn in):

No committee in Congress has gotten more campaign contributions from Facebook's PAC than the one that will question CEO Mark Zuckerberg. usat.ly/2GyYliW

Perhaps we can now finally get a policy that bans active promotion of such technologies by governments in #education, #healthcare, #infrastructure & #banking? #GDPR #sovereignty

Technologies like save lives. And it can help you preserving your privacy as well. Free to use, share, study and improve. Free Software has never been as important. Now we need better hardware we can trust out of the box as well.

Because I've used @Tails_live for years. The journalists who broke the mass surveillance revelations of 2013 all relied on it. Free, libre, and open source software projects quietly save the world every day, even when you can't see it, and their success depends on your support. twitter.com/aigirlfriend/s
