Mine's probably a tie between my second IUD insertion and getting a surgical scar on my ribs tattooed over. The first one had me literally screaming in pain and the second one is the only time I've ever tapped out of something because it was too painful to continue.

This is the body horror hour here on my page, obvious content warnings for medical trauma/body horror/etc... ahead!

I did the math on these responses and 8% of them were IUD insertions, 11% were uterus/ovary/etc... related. This doesn’t include anyone who mentioned uterus/IUD related stuff as their second choice, solely first choices/ties here. Having a uterus SUCKS.

I wasn't expecting this to blow up like it did lol. The above tweet was calculated with like 200 responses so it's extremely incorrect now. Uteruses sucking still stands though.

Interesting to me that almost everyone with a uterus who has responded so far has said this

LEEP procedure (basically a chunk of cervix is cut off & biopsied, it’s absurd that they do this procedure with you fully awake and unanesthetized). Runner up is IUD insertion. Most painful natural occurrence was a red paper wasp sting.

Uterus/cervix stuff seems to be the winner here

Omg I had an ovarian cyst pop when I was like 12ish and they assumed it was appendicitis and were this close to slicing me open to take my appendix out before someone realized 12 year olds also have ovaries and therefore can have a cyst on one.
