    We only have one species of here - the Sudell’s Frog (Neobatrachus sudellae). They’re a burrowing frog that are adapted to living in the . They spend years buried under the ground, waiting for rain. Once it does rain the desert sounds like this 🐸

    We received 50 mm of rain at the reserve over the weekend! That’s more than we got in the whole of 2019! All the clay pans and gilgais in the area are full of water. Even the have come out! 📸 , Poppy Walker &

    💦 50 mm of rain at (more than we got in all of 2019) and the worst of the drought broken. We'll take stock later, planning for easing the arid zone into a hotter and drier future, but for now... yay for frogs! 🐸

    The rainfall readings are in fresh from the field! In the last 3 days has received 50mm!! Hallelujah. Cannot stress how necessary this was for all life forms at the reserve (including humanoids).

    Good news about our initiative! This weekend we made 1,000 water dispensers in the at Nepean, Mt Riverview, Lawson & Katoomba. and would like to thank our volunteers who came along to help wildlife in areas!

    Legless lizard squiggles everywhere on the dunes this week. These Lerista spp. often have only 2 legs (at the back) and literally swim through the sand ⁦

    Great modification of the water fountain design we’ve been sharing. This one has a larger spout and would suit larger animals where evaporation isn’t so intense. Also, no drilling required.
