🤓We’re winding up this month with 3 questions that require a bit more brain power: #1 If Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 lifted off side by side toward a GTO orbit, which would be the fastest, and why? #ArianeGroup #Ariane5 #Ariane6pic.twitter.com/37QsBo1ICa

#2 From this image and using your knowledge about Ariane 5, can you suggest a range for the altitude that this rocket has reached? #ArianeGroup #Ariane5pic.twitter.com/SVzkRgXnl6

#3 Do you know how long it will take an Ariane 6 to reach a geostationary orbit? #ArianeGroup #Ariane6pic.twitter.com/qAMPBBVGsb

Everything up to around 65km, when the 2 SRBs separate!

I would guess this could be right after liftoff when @ariane5 starts its gravity turn to about 70km before booster burnout and separation.

If I am not mistaken, the flow from the nozzles does not seem to show a Prandtl-Meyer expansion typical of high altitudes (low outside pressure). So, I don't know... Maybe a height of a couple tens of thousands of feet?

I’d say about 10km as the thrust from the vulcain doesn’t seem to expand, which means it isn’t flying in a low pressure area.

Looks like 8-10 km.🤔Soon after liftoff. Can't be more than 70 km as Ariane still has boosters.
