Its precise scientific name is "injector thingy" and its job is injecting fuel and oxidizer (LH2&LOx) into the engine's main combustion chamber, which is the Vulcain in this case I guess, which is the only engine on Ariane 5's center core and so on...
While we really enjoy the name proposition, are you sure about your answer?

I'm sure in the injector part and its job, but if you're asking back... Maybe for Prometheus instead of Vulcain?
