These are stunning! My mom worked at a contractor for the ariane program in the 90s ! I am sending the photos to her!

Not in person, I don’t think. It was Contraves Space in Switzerland - she spent a decade there as a mechanical engineer / configuration manager from 1990-2000. Proud of my mom and all women in STEM setting their mark like this.

Contraves space was apparently responsible for the payload part of the rocket. They made the shell around the satelite transported as well the explosion mechanism. It was Ariane 5, i think.
