      Yes and also, all the engines that we develop in our Vernon (France) facility have a name starting with V (Vikink, Vulcain, Vinci) as a nod to the city.

          Quick Question: Why does Ariane V launch at T+ 7 seconds? Why not light up the SRBs at the same time or at least 1 second later than the center core?

          This is a very good question. During an @Ariane5, Vulcain 2 is tested during these 7 seconds: in the event of an anomaly, it is cut off and the launch is postponed, but, if all the systems are nominal, the SRBs are switched on and Ariane 5 takes off instantly. #Ariane5
