Continuous super slow evolution. SpaceX had nothing in 2002 and has now F9, FH and Crew Dragon + reusability. Europe had the Ariane 5 ECA maiden flight in 2002 and in 2020 we are still flying A5 ECA with some minor improvements.

No shit, that’s why they’re developing a replacement and new engines, ArianeGroup have no engines like Fastrac or Merlin as its been renamed to use, so we have to develop one if we want to use it
